A jolly paper Santa in a few minutes

This easy origami Santa Claus is folded from one square of paper that is red on one side and white on the other. The red side becomes Santa's hat, and the white side becomes his face, beard and fur trim. There is no cutting, and it takes only a few minutes.

It is one of the quickest Christmas origami crafts for kids and beginners, and a whole row of little Santas looks wonderful on the table, the tree or a Christmas card.

Kids can make it with the help of their parents. You can teach your child together: watch the video, follow the step-by-step pictures and fold side by side.

Questions

What paper do I need for an origami Santa?

One square of paper, about 15 × 15 cm, that is red on one side and white on the other. Normal origami paper is perfect.

Is the origami Santa easy for kids?

Yes. It has only a few folds and no cutting, so young children can make it with a little help.

How do I make Santa's face?

Draw two dots for the eyes and a red dot for the nose, or glue on small googly eyes. A cotton ball on the tip of the hat makes the pompom.

How long does it take?

About five minutes for the first one, and even less once you know the folds.
