How to make your Halloween mask

  1. Print the PDF at 100% (actual size), on thick paper or thin card if you have it.
  2. Colour it in if you chose the colouring page: crayons, markers, glitter, anything goes.
  3. Cut out the mask along the outline.
  4. Cut out the eye holes on the dashed lines. Fold the mask gently in the middle of an eye and make a small snip to start, or ask a grown-up to use a craft knife.
  5. Make the two small holes at the sides, tie a piece of elastic or string through them, and your mask is ready to wear!

Kids can make it with the help of their parents. You can teach your child together: print the mask, colour it, and cut it out side by side.

Ideas for a Halloween mask party

  • A whole costume: wear the black cat mask with an origami witch hat, or the werewolf mask with paper claws.
  • Spider theme: the spider web masquerade mask goes perfectly with a paper spider web on the door.
  • Classroom craft: print the colouring pages for the whole class and let every child design their own mask.
  • Masquerade on a stick: tape a wooden skewer or a paper straw to one side and hold the mask in front of your face.
  • Decorate the party: add Halloween paper chains, a flapping bat and a talking pumpkin.

Questions

Are the Halloween masks really free?

Yes. All six masks are free to print and use at home, at school and at parties. Please do not sell them or upload them somewhere else.

What paper should I print the masks on?

Thick paper or thin card (160 to 250 g/m²) works best. If you only have normal printer paper, glue the mask onto a cereal box or a piece of card before you cut it out.

How do I make the mask stay on?

Make the two small holes at the sides with a hole punch or a pencil, and tie a piece of elastic or string through them. A wooden stick taped to one side also works, like a masquerade mask on a stick.

Which mask is best for small children?

The black cat and the werewolf are quick to cut out. The colouring versions are perfect for little ones who love to colour their own design.

Do the masks fit adults too?

They are made for children's faces when printed at 100%. For teenagers and adults, print at about 115 to 120%, or on A3 paper.
